Injustice in the Land: Part 2

In the Old Testament Scriptures are found the writings of the prophet Micah.  Though he lived in Judah, he was one of God’s servants to the nation of Israel [Northern kingdom] prior to her captivity.  His prophecies were profound in that he not only exposed the present injustice and idolatry of the people, but he proclaimed the birth of the One who would ultimately offer salvation to all mankind through His death, burial and resurrection.

The rise of injustice in the land seems to be reaching new heights.  Viewing the evening news becomes a somewhat depressing activity if it were not for the fact that Scripture contradicts man’s thinking that he can control his own destiny and therefore run rampant over the Justice and Sovereignty of God.

A Failed Judiciary

In A.D. 30, nearly two thousand years ago, Israel was preparing to observe the Passover.  But this Passover would be uniquely different from the previous ones.  Two of the greatest systems of jurisprudence, that of Rome and the Jews would converge to form an unholy alliance and violate the tenets of their judicial systems in an effort to silence the One who claimed to be King of the Jews, the Messiah of Israel.
