Freedom from Guilt

While attending a counseling seminar as part of an in-service program for a district school, this writer had the opportunity to hear a practicing psychiatrist speak on the subject of guilt and its effects on people.  He stated that some eighty- –five per cent of his patients’ health issues were the result of guilt and their inability to set failures aside and move forward with their lives.  The Bible is a wonderful textbook on the subject of guilt and how it can be removed so that the individual is no longer plagued by the mistakes of the past.  Scripture is filled with God’s promises of forgiveness and cleansing.

Freedom from Bitterness

During the month of July, Sharing the Word has focused on various freedoms that belong to us founded on the Word of God. The Christian life is to be characterized by Truth that gives the believer the privilege of living above the circumstances of life.  It is evident that life has problems, but when an individual believes in Christ as their Savior, there is opportunity to apply God’s grace provision for handling the adversities of life.
