“I love you to the moon and back.” This is a common saying to express how great someone’s love is. Although unsure of its origin it has now been used in books, movies and many greeting cards.

No greater love was shown than when Jesus, in His innocence, died for our sin. That is the ultimate act of love. And the Psalmist was already declaring God’s great love before Jesus was on the earth. “For great is your love, reaching to the heavens…”

In essence it was the Psalmist who came up with the concept of loving someone to the moon and back, he just said it in a different way! What a privilege it is to be recipients of this great love. Let us never take it for granted and never doubt its existence.

God loves you to the moon and back. How do you respond to such love?

"For great is your love, reaching to the heavens; your faithfulness reaches to the skies." Psalm 57:10
