Fog surrounded the horizons at dawn this morning. To the West a full bright moon shown threw the trees. To the East the sun brightened road and outlined the trees in the background. I was witnessing the exchange, and the large moon yielded.

The moon and stars to govern the night; His love endures forever. Psalm 136:9

As a kid, I always enjoyed looking up at the moon. I could see it clearly from my bedroom window and sometimes I would stay up late into the morning hours, enjoying its shape, movement, and brilliance. It has no light of its own, but it reflects the light of the Sun to Earth. The moon has been called a “faithful witness in the sky.” So long as the Sun exists and the moon is still orbiting around the Earth, it will faithfully reflect sunlight to us.

Our lives are a mere reflection of the Son! Like the moon, we produce no light of our own. We, too, will shine brightest when all of us that others see reflect the light of the Son.

As Christians, we are meant to be faithful witnesses of Christ’s Light on Earth. When we show Christ’s love and reflect the Truth of Christ, it means we wholly reflect His Teachings and Truth, and His Compassion. Love without Christ is just a temporary feeling; love with Christ’s Truth is an everlasting faith.
