According to an old Native American legend, the dream catcher is supposed to let the good dreams through to the dreamer while the bad dreams are getting caught in the net of the dream catcher and are being destroyed by the first rays of the morning sun. You have to hang the dream catcher in the window or over your bed.

Have you ever been woken up by a crazy dream? Some dreams can be frightening. Some can be sad. But in the hours when we sleep even through our dreams we can gain wisdom and understanding.

Our minds are always active even when we are asleep unconscious thoughts are always running in the background, affecting our decisions and emotions, but even than God can still work in us.

The Holy Spirit is the Great Counselor. When life doesn’t make sense, God is there to comfort and instruct. The Spirit in us is not limited to waking hours He can counsel our spirit even when we sleep. At times the counseling can come in a dream, like Joseph, who dreamed of events to come, or the Spirit of Truth can bring us a word of understanding. Consider the wisdom that is spoken from the Spirit to get a perspective that brings peace and calm to my restless mind.

I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. Psalm 16:7

Do not be anxious about anything… the peace of God…will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Allow God to be your Dream Catcher!
