What a delight to look again down a long avenue of trees. In spring the branching pillars and arches of leaves create a lush sanctuary to enter. I am reminded to look down the long pathways of my life, at the green boughs of mercy overhead, and the strong pillars of His loving-kindness and faithfulness. It has been God all along who held up my joys.

Are there birds singing in branches? Yes, there are many! They all sing of His mercy toward me to this day. But I am not yet at the end. There are still distances to travel. More trials, more joys; more temptations, more triumphs; more prayers, more answers; more toils, more triumphs; more fights, more strength; and then come sickness, old age, disease, and death.

Is it over then? No! There is more. I will awaken in Jesus’ likeness, with thrones all around, and songs, psalms, white raiment, the society of saints, the face of Jesus, and the glory of God. I’ll live in the fullness of eternity with His everlasting peace and presence.

Until then, when I pass Canopy Road, I’ll remember His canopy over us.

"Surely He will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection." (Psalm 91:3-4)
