I enjoy any chance to listen to Adventures in Odyssey. It is a Christian radio drama and comedy series created and produced by Focus on the Family for kids. The series centers on the fictional town of Odyssey, and in particular, an ice-cream emporium named Whit's End, and its owner, John Avery Whittaker. While at Whit’s End, kids would always seek his advice. I love the stories and characters, but maybe the draw is because I’ve been at my “wits end” all too often.

I’ve had my moments where I felt bruised, beaten down, and all alone, unable to go on.

Been there? You are at wits end. At times I was dizzy and even numb from the troubles that seemed to hit from all sides. Been there? You are at wits end. There were also times that I had so much to do and little time to do it. Been there? You are at wits end.

I have found that being at “wits end” is not all that bad. For when I am the end of my wits, my intellect, that’s when God can show His power. When I can win when I lean on the resources of Him Who does not fail.

At their wit's end, "they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he brings them out" (Psalm 107:27-28).

Why is it that we work ourselves silly? Before we get to our wits end, we can call on Him and He will answer and show great and mighty things which we do not know (Jeremiah 33:3).
